Fishing report
3-20-13
Sorry about no reports for so long. The fishing up here in the fly water has been slow to fair depending on the day. It will pick up nicely with the weather we are getting now and should hold good through the end of the season. Are drift boat man Clay has been doing well in the lower river so there are plenty of fish on there way up. The run is slow this year because we have had no real rain for a very long time and they need rain to move up.

The water is still cold and the fishing in the upper river has been a bit slow but if you keep after it there are some nice fish to be had. You just have to put your time in and be persistant, but that is fly fishing for steelhead is all about.

The fishing for the start of the winter season has been fair to good. The water is a little to low clear and cold but there is some nice fish around and it should get better with some weather. Fished with Mark today the photos below are two of five we landed.

The recent weather and water has brought in some nice fall run fish, the photos below are of a beautiful 40" buck and a nice hen. The river will be blown for the next week or so but we should see some winter fish up in the fly water after xmas.

The summer season is almost over. We had some good days this summer but the fishing was a bit slow for the most part. We will be doing trips for summer fish up to the 15th of November.
I am now looking forward to the winter season, we will start winter steelhead trips January 1. Most years the fishing in January is good, we just need some help from mother nature. Last year January was slow because we had very low and cold water conditions so pray for some weather and I hope to see you this winter.

The fishing has perked up a bit with the cooler weather and pressure change of the last few days. Still not easy but a good improvement. When we get some real weather the fishing should be good. We are still getting fish on skaters but have started fishing tips as well.

Sorry about no recent reports. The fishing is still slow but has picked up a bit the last week or so. We have seen fish most morning sessions with the evenings putting out the occasional fish. Still not easy but a good improvement from a few weeks ago.

The fishing has been slow but the river is finally down to a good fishable level. The fish ladder at Winchester had good #s last week so it should pick up soon. Please sign our petition to save our wild winter steelhead, it's at the bottom of the home page.

We are gearing up for our summer season here on the N Umpqua. The early counts are good and we have seen some fish caught in the fly water. The water levels have been a bit high but should be in perfect shape come July. Our Willamette specialist Jeff says the middle fork of the Willamette has been fishing well this year with an good early count and good water conditions the last week or so. It should be a good summer season and hope you can come fish with us here at Summer Run Guide Service.

The fishing has been fair but is now blown out. We are expecting rain for the next few days so it most likely be out of shape for 3 to 4 days. Photos of the big muddy below

The river is blown out and probably will be for a few days. Before the rains the fishing was fair to good.Fished with brian and Jim one day and landed 3, one was a 37.5" x 20". Fished a morning session with Robert from Medford a couple days later and he landed 3 one was a 37"x20". Thats 19# to 21# depending on what formula you choose to use.

The fishing up here on the North has been fair. We have had some good days and some days that they here hard to find but thats
steelhead fishing. It should be good in March and early April. Fished with friend Averi the morning of the 22nd photo below is one of 3 we landed.

Fishing has been good. You still have to work for every one you get but that is steelheading with real flies.

This is a new site I just got up yesterday, so all the old reports and photos are gone. The fishing has been fair to good with the recent rains and should hold if we keep getting weather. Fished with Mike this afternoon and hooked 3 landed 2. Photo below was from today.
